Workspace

Govie Projects

Media Library

The Media Library is the place where you upload and organize your assets. Videos, audio files, images and 3D-models can be uploaded here. There are also options for deleting or renaming the media file, as well as automatically replace it with a newer version in all Govies.

The Govie-Editor in Detail

The Govie Editor

In this tutorial, we’re going to take a look at the heart of the platform. All 3D presentations are created with the Govie editor. Besides an overview of the various control panel types, there is a step-by-step introduction to the various menus and their functions.

The Technical Editor

The Technical Govie is a version of the Govie Editor that has been optimized for CAD data. In this video, the details of the editor are presented and the differences to the previously shown Cineastic Viewer are discussed.

The Panorama Editor

The Panorama Editor enables the creation of 360 ° presentations. Several panorama images can be integrated and linked. This way, you can create your own virtual tour.

Govie Types

Here the different Govie types and an explanation of the purpose for which each type is best suited, are presented.

A Cinematic Govie gives the best visual results and uses additional information stored inside the GLB file. Ambient occlusion and lightmaps are also supported to make your models look even better.

A Technical Govie aims towards presenting your model in different levels. This includes showing an exploded view as well as various types of shading.

With a Panorama Govie you can create 360 ° scenes. This can be used to create virtual tours or walkthroughs. There is also the option to link Google Street View photos and you can import self-made 360 ° recordings from your smartphone.

Integrate 3D-model from libraries

Using a keyword search, you can easily find the 3D-models you need for your topic on various platforms. These models can be easily inserted into any govie.

Sketchfab

Sketchfab is a platform for publishing, sharing, buying and selling 3D, VR and AR content. It is mainly focused on 3D artist.

Turbosquid

TurboSquid is one of the largest web portals for the distribution of 3D-models. It is well-engineered and offers models in all common file formats.

CGTrader

CGTrader is an inexpensive alternative to Turbosquid. In addition to a wide range of 3D-models, the platform also offers access to freelancers and actively supports 3D artists in selling their models.

3Dsky is a platform that has mainly focused on architecture and interior models.

Integrate 3D-models from 3D-software

In order to use the full functionality of the Govie Editor (Cineastic Govie), we recommend the GLTF or GLB format for your 3D models. Here you will find detailed instructions for using various 3D software applications:

Blender

Blender is the preferred 3D software for the Govie Editor. Our team developed an extension that makes it particularly easy to get started. In addition, Blender is accessible, free of charge, and can be installed and set up in a few minutes.

3D Studio Max

GLTF / GLB files are exported in 3D Studio Max using the Babylon plug-in. This page describes how to install the plug-in and how to handle the export process.

Cinema 4D

Here you’ll find instructions for exporting your model in the gLTF standard. These instructions describe which specific properties can be exported. Besides that the export settings as well as materials and animations are explained.

Play Govies offline

Here you can download the Govie Player, which enables you to play your created Govie offline.

Windows Installation
